William IV Mahogany Pembroke Library or Centre Table on Rectangular Pedestal & Quadruped Base
A fine mahogany Pembroke table from around 1830-40 and in very good condition for its age, with densely-grained solid drop-leaf top with rounded edges, over a plain frieze that incorporates double supporting brackets on each long side, raised upon a tapering rectangular pedestal with boldly-moulded panels to all four sides, on an ogee plinth on quadruped platform base with substantial scroll feet at each corner and with projecting mouldings and cylindrical rolls to the tops, this wonderful library, centre or dining table will impress in the most elegant of homes, whether period-furnished or more contemporary in style, fully-deserving of the envious attention it will certainly attract.
Length when Closed 110.5cm x Width 56cm (43.5" x 22")
Length when Open 110.5cm x Width 104.75cm (43.5" x 41.25")
Height 72.5cm (28.5")
This is a pre-Victorian piece, so you may expect the mature character & patina that only develops with genuine age, together with some scarring of the veneer to the base but, otherwise, it's in very good, clean & sound condition, ready to use in your home.
