Late Victorian Walnut Glazed 2-Door Cabinet Bookcase
A fine late Victorian walnut piece in very good condition with projecting top, having moulded edges to front & sides, over a plain frieze with mouldings top & bottom, over an enclosed cabinet with panelled back and two doors that have glazed panels with moulded frames, secured on brass catches to top & bottom and working lock & key, on a moulded plinth, the interior fitted with three adjustable height shelves with decorative leather swags to their front edges, this great cabinet bookcase will impress in the most elegant of period-furnished reception rooms, fully-deserving of the flattering attention it will surely attract.
O/All Width 104cm x Depth 30cm (41" x 11.75") & Height 108cm (42.5")
This is a Victorian piece from the latter part of the 19thC, so you may expect the mature character & patina that only develops with considerable age; the doors have dropped & bowed slightly but function well and the leather swags are faded but, otherwise, it's in very good, clean & sound condition, ready to use in your home.
