Victorian Mahogany Hall Chair with Armorial Carved Back
An exuberantly carved Victorian mahogany piece from around 1850-70 and in very good condition, with confidently modelled & elaborately scrolled armorial back and central recessed shield, out-sweeping seat with faceted front corners and serpentine front, on scroll-carved 'continental' cabriole front legs and sabre rear, this fine hall chair will impress, both in the most elegantly-furnished of period surroundings and in the most stylish of contemporary interiors, fully-deserving of the admiring attention it will undoubtedly attract.
O/All Width 46cm x Depth 47.5cm (18" x 18.75"), Height at Centre of Back 89cm (35") & Height to Seat 44cm (17.5")
Seat Width at Narrowest 31cm (12.25") & Seat Depth 38cm (15")
This is a Victorian piece, so you may expect the mature character & patina that only comes with considerable age and, otherwise, it's in very good, clean & sound condition, ready to use in your home.
