19th Century Mahogany Swing Dressing Mirror with Serpentine-Fronted 2-Drawer Base

An exceptional flame mahogany veneered piece from around 1830-50 but in great condition for its age, with great figuring to the cabinet top, serpentine 2-drawer front with floral pressed brass plates and ring handles, separated by a carved acanthus leaf panel, all on ring-turned front corner supports and matching rear feet, the plain mirror glass (almost certainly later) in cross-banded and mitred frame with edge trim, on turned supports with conical finials and circular brass handles to the securing pivot, this wonderful dressing mirror will impress in the most elegant of homes, fully-deserving of the admiring attention it will undoubtedly attract.

This piece dates from around the early-mid 19thC, so you may expect the mature character & patina of age, together with wear & tear commensurate with normal use; there is some cracking of the veneer to the top of the drawer cabinet but it's not an issue and, if you continue to feed this with wax, it will stabilise in time. In all other respects, this piece is in very good, clean & sound condition and is ready to use in your home.
