A singularly attractive pair of mahogany chairs from around the reign of William IV and in very good condition for their age, with a broad back-rest that has outstandingly-carved acanthus leaf medallions to either side, a panelled centre and scroll-carved crest, on rounded supports that are contiguous with the rear sabre legs and are united by an elaborately & decoratively carved mid-rail, the drop-in seats covered in a faded but sound floral tapestry material, over a moulded frieze with roundels at either side, on turned & tapering baluster front legs with bold applied reeding, these beautiful quality chairs will impress in any elegantly furnished home, fully-deserving of the flattering attention they will undoubtedly attract.
