Art Deco Period Oval-Framed Wall Mirror with Painted Faux Wood-Grain Finish
A substantial wall-hung mirror in the Art Deco manner of the 1920s & 30s, in generally good condition, with oval frame and bevelled glass, the frame inset with gilt-finished decorative panels of floral blooms, alternating with 'cross-banded' sections in a painted, faux wood-grain finish and with continuous beaded inner moulding, fully-boarded rear and original hanging chain, this stylish mirror will impress in any elegantly-appointed hall, reception room or bedroom.
Width 58.5cm x Height 69cm (23" x 27.25") & Depth 4.75cm (2")
This piece dates from around the 1920s or 30s, so you may expect some wear & tear commensurate with age & normal use, including
- foxing to the mirror glass
- smudging of the faux wood-grain finish on the upper left-hand side,
adjacent to an old, secure repair to the edge of the frame
- some losses to the gesso on the outer rear edge of the frame
but, in all other respects, it's in good, clean & sound original condition, ready to use in your home.
