A fine late Victorian walnut chair with modern upholstery covered in claret red leather with brass dome-headed studs, in very good condition with a finely-carved back-rest featuring three shell motifs on chip-work ground and uniting the moulded uprights with a padded back, matching moulded arms with upholstered pads, inverted bracket front supports and turned baluster sides, on a moulded frieze, shaped rear and turned front legs, all on replacement but period brass & ceramic casters, this substantial library armchair is both stylish and eminently comfortable and will please in any elegantly furnished home, fully-deserving of the admiring attention it will undoubtedly attract.
