Painted Victorian Child's Windsor Spindle Back Chair

$76.81

Painted Victorian Child's Windsor Spindle Back Chair

A delightful child's Windsor chair in elm or beech, probably dating from around 1860-80 but given 2-3 different coats of paint in the 20thC, the paintwork has now flaked extensively so it's fashionably shabby, with shaped back rail and six turned spindles, on a saddle-shaped seat, on turned & tapering legs, united by a turned H-stretcher, this charming little chair will be loved in any child's den, fully-deserving of the envious attention of their playmates!

Max. Width at Back Rail 38.25cm x Depth 43cm (15" x 17")
Height at Centre of Back 61cm (24") & Height of Seat 32.5cm (12.75")

This piece probably dates from the mid-Victorian period but acquired various coats of paint in the 20thC which are now worn, so you may wish to strip the paintwork or over-paint but it's in perfectly good, clean & sound condition as is and ready to be used in your home.
