Regency Mahogany Chest of 4 Graduated Drawers
A fine Regency mahogany piece in remarkably good condition for its age, with richly-grained & character-marked top, having slight variability in colour from exposure to sunlight, with cross-banded & boxwood beaded front & side edges, over four graduated & cock-beaded drawers with the original brass swan-neck handles and circular plates, together with bone inlaid & shield shaped escutcheons for working locks*, all operated by a single key, on moulded plinth and bracket feet, this lovely chest of drawers will impress in the most elegantly-appointed of homes, whether period-furnished or more contemporary in style, fully-deserving of the admiring attention it will undoubtedly attract.
*working locks to the three lower drawers only, as the top lock is inoperative
Width of Top 83.5cm x Depth 45.25cm (33" x 17.75") & Height 79.5cm (31.25")
This is an antique piece from around the first quarter of the 19thC, so you may expect the mature character & patina of considerable age, together with very minor wear & tear but, otherwise, it's in very good, clean & sound condition and is ready to use in your home.
