A good quality mahogany show-frame armchair from around 1880-1900, with crisply inscribed decorative motifs throughout, both botanical & geometric in style, covered in a wine-red velvet with button-upholstered back and upholstered arm pads, on scrolled obelisk front supports over block bases on turned & fluted front legs and arching square chamfered rear, all on brass shoes and white ceramic casters, this impressive chair is both stylish & comfortable and will stand out in the most elegantly tasteful of homes, whether period-furnished or more contemporary in inspiration.
